Prodigal Son Dean Koontz's Frankenstein #1

Knowledge is knowing that Frankenstein is not the monster.

Wisdom is knowing that Frankenstein is the monster.

A questionable phrase when applied to the original book. Full of hubris. A coward. Not really a ‘good’ person, sure. But a monster?

Well, in Dean Koontz’s version… yeah. Victor Frankenstein (now Victor Helios)–totally the monster.

Ultimate X-Men, Vol. 16: Cable Ultimate X-Men #16 Ultimate Marvel Universe #61

Time travel. It always seems to come back–have come back? will come back? will have come backend? –to that in the end.

In this case, Xavier did… something to bring Ultimate Cable back to stop him. And who is Cable? Well that’s the question, isn’t it?

An interesting story, with quite the stakes.

Going to have to see where it goes from here!

Ultimate Spider-Man, Volume 17: Clone Saga Ultimate Spider-Man #17 Ultimate Marvel Universe #60

Well that was absolutely wild. Characters back from the dead! Carnage! A whole bunch of Spider-Men (-Women, -Abominations)! Secret government projects… that may or may not be SHIELD related! The Fantastic Four! X-Men! Fury! Ultimates!

I don’t know if any of this is something that’s happened before in Spider-Man story lines, but it’s certainly not one I’ve heard of before. Probably the biggest shake up I’ve had through the Ultimate Marvel read through.

Well well worth the read!

Onward!

Ultimate Power Supreme Power #9 Ultimate Marvel Universe #58

Reed. Trying to do the right thing.

What can possibly go wrong? … this time.

Nothing that a team of Fantastic Four, X-Men, Spider-Man, and some Ultimates couldn’t fix? What if you add in the Squadron Supreme? (Seriously, who names these things?)

It’s an action packed crossover with a team I didn’t even know existed, a lesson in hubris for a few I’m sure won’t learn it, and a peak into just who the most powerful in the Ultimate universe are.

An interesting one off.

Ultimate Fantastic Four, Volume 9: Silver Surfer Ultimate Fantastic Four #9 Ultimate Marvel Universe #57

A perfect Utopia.

As problematic as one might imagine digging any deeper.

A Searcher—Surfer?—seeking those to fill it.

And Reed Richards, calling out into the universe for anyone—or anything—that night be out there listening.

It’s an interesting story, if a bit of a lackluster ending.

I do find it interesting how far the power scale in the Marvel Universe(s) goes. Uber powerful, unkillable monsters like the Hulk… and there’s always a bigger fish(tm).

Onward.

Ultimate Fantastic Four, Volume 8: Devils Ultimate Fantastic Four #8 Ultimate Marvel Universe #56

Hundreds of years ago, a big bad got locked up—only he could somehow reach into the future and manage to kidnap someone precious to each of the Fantastic Four?

Weird enough, but even better, here’s how they decided to go back in time incognito:

Yeah.

Anyways, it’s not a super interesting story even with the time travel, even if I did like it more than God War.

And attached is Annual 2… again? So much Mole Man.

Onward.
