And now, a quick jaunt to Jack of Fables, Vol. 2: Jack of Hearts. More or less in publishing order, but not directly related. Mostly it’s a way to get another few on the world.

And oh what a weird view it is. Jack is a powerful individual and he knows it, but he’s also aboslutely terrible at making any good on that, always jumping from one hairbrained scheme to another. In Jack of Fables, Vol. 1: The (Nearly) Great Escape, he was captured by a power that I’m still curious to see more about, now he’s on the run. But half of the story is about that time that he was also Jack Frost (and a royal ass about it then too).

I find Greed’s storyline absolutely fascinating. Of all the Homunculi, who would have expected that one to be the most likely to change. Perhaps it says something about humanity?

In any case, it’s a crazy story that just keeps getting bigger and crazier. GIANT BATTLES! SOUND EFFECTS! CRAZY THINGS HAPPENING!

Mystery Behind the Wall The Boxcar Children #17

It’s a cute little book. Benny’s friends all wondered off for the summer so Mrs. McGregor invites Canadian son of a friend Rory over for the summer.

One thing leads to another and a telegraph between the boys’ rooms leads to the mystery of a missing coin collection. Along the way, they learn more about the mystery of the house, find a fun old local store, and of course eventually solve the mystery.
