Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Harry Potter #3

Onward in Harry Potter. And still without making it back to the first.

Plotwise, this is one of my favorites. It’s an action packed story with a lot of mystery going on and a twist to the plot that (long ago) I did not see coming–and which actually pulls the last part of the story together very well. Even if, in the broader world Harry Potter lives in doesn’t make any sense.

Ron: [when Harry and Hermione reappear] How did you get there? I… I was talking to you there! And now you’re there!
Hermione: What’s he talking about Harry?
Harry: I dunno. Honestly Ron, how can people be in two places at once?

Still.

Visually, I did love the scene with the Night Bus and staying at the Leaky Cauldron. It expands the parts of this world that I would love to be able to see and visit. The castle has changed a bit, to be much more rugged and hilly. It’s a bit weird but interesting to see the world grow and evolve as each director and crew puts their mark on the world.

Castingwise, David Thewlis as Professor Lupin and Gary Oldman as Sirius Black were great additions. And it’s still fun to see the cast growing up.

I’ve been enjoying visiting this world once again and exploring it with my own children.

Dumbledore: A child’s voice, however honest and true, is meaningless to those who’ve forgotten how to listen.

Onward!
