The Last Olympian Percy Jackson and the Olympians #5 Camp Half-Blood Chronicles #5

This is it! The Last Battle1. Kronos and his army of titans, monsters, gods, and demigods is about to reach New York City and Mount Olympus. And, because of a rampaging Titan coming across the country, the city is almost entirely undefended.

So it’s up to Percy and the demigods of Camp Half-Blood to save the day!

Oh, did I mention that Percy is about ot turn 16 in this book? And that there’s a certain prophecy all about that?

It’s quite a book. It ends as you’d expect, with the good guys saving the day, but there are quite a few crazy battles, big sacrifices, and truly dangerous moments along the way.

There is so much action in this book, it’s hard to put it down.

I think my favorite moment though, comes in the ending. In saving the day, Percy is, as it goes in these stories, owed a boon by the gods. He could choose anything. Even to ascend to minor godhood himself. So of course…

Well, you’ll just have to read the story and find out!

It’s a great end to the first series. I’m so glad that there are more in this same universe, both continuing in The Heroes of Olympus, but also branching out to Egyptian mythology in The Kane Chronicles (which I’ll reread) and Norse mythology in Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard (new to me!).

So much to look forward to!

Onward!

  1. And I enjoyed the Last Olympian far more than the final Narnia book personally. ↩︎
